What is a lifestyle session?

Lifestyle simply means that we focus on the unique connection you share together. I use a gentle & guided approach to posing, allowing you the opportunity to interact naturally together in a way that feels authentic to you. I do not use props or elaborate backdrops with my newborn photography.

Session and Payment

Your session fee includes the session, travel and my time and talent along with digital files from your session. Session fees are non-refundable and due upon booking. I accept check and all major credit cards.

When should we book our session?

Dates fill up quickly so it is encouraged to book early. If you’re looking to book a newborn session, it is recommended to reach out in your second trimester. We will schedule a tentative session date based on your expected due date. Typically newborn sessions are scheduled within the first three weeks after arrival when baby is still sleepy and cuddly. f your baby arrives early or late we will reschedule appropriately. It is best to schedule a newborn session within the first 14 days while the baby is still sleepy and cuddly.

What days are sessions scheduled?

Sessions are scheduled Monday-Thursday. Newborn session are scheduled for 10am while family sessions are scheduled around sunset and times vary dependent on the time of year. Outdoor sessions are booked May through early November.

What if I need to reschedule my session due to weather or illness?

If you need to reschedule your session, the session fee may be transferred to another date. The rescheduled date must be within two weeks of the original date and is at my discretion only. If you or your child are sick we will absolutely reschedule your session as the health of all my clients is of utmost importance.

How long will a session be?

Session length ranges from 45 minutes - 2 hours depending on the type of session you book. Newborn sessions typically take longer as we stop for breaks, cuddles and feeding.

What can we expect during our newborn session?

Newborn sessions take place in the comfort of home, wrapped up in the safety and warmth of your arms. These sessions are lifestyle in nature and are focused on celebrating the beauty of the connection you share together. Sessions will last around 2-3 hours, depending on baby. I take a very relaxed approach to the session, letting baby set the pace, periodically for feeding and cuddles. It is best to have the baby as sleepy and comfortable as possible. Have your home warm and at a comfortable temperature for baby, typically around 80 degrees.

Can siblings be included in newborn sessions?

Absolutely!! We love to included siblings in newborn sessions as they marvel at their new best friend!! It is encouraged to have a guardian (not Mom or Dad) available to pickup baby’s sibling after their photographs have been taken. Due to the length of newborn sessions, it’s just too long for a kiddo to have to wait.

What should we wear?

Neutral and subtle tones work best to keep focus on baby. Creams, grays, pastels and whites are typically the best color palette to dress with. Avoid patterns, logos and heavy textures as they will distract in the photos. We want to ensure that your outfits compliment and highlight the connection you share together. For newborn sessions, I provide a small selection of blankets & accessories to choose from that you can incorporate into your session. Additionally I have several inspiration boards you can review before your session for outfit ideas.

How many people can be included in a family session?

Up to six. At this time I do not offer large family group sessions or family reunions.

How long will we see our images?

Your images will live in their online gallery for up to a year.

What is the most important thing we can do to prepare for our shoot with you?

Come ready to truly enjoy the experience!! I want to capture your relationship together, whether you are new parents marveling at this little life you brought into the world or you have a growing family with kids who seem to change every day. I don’t want these images to feel stuffy or forced - so I always encourage a cheerful attitude and trust that you’ll be well taken care of!! I cannot stress enough to the parents out there — don’t worry about what your kiddos may or may not do or how they behave. I want you to simply enjoy being together and I will take care of the rest!!
